About Us

Acu-Care Health Centers was founded in 1989 by Kimberly Hoover, a San Diego acupuncturist. At Acu-Care, you are not just another patient. Acu-Care means acupuncture performed with care - not just care about the safety and effectiveness of your treatment, but about you as a person. We have two convenient San Diego locations. Our Central San Diego office is located at 2852 Adams Avenue, San Diego, CA 92116, and our South Bay office is at 4514 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. We offer comprehensive services including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicines, detoxification programs, health products, weight loss programs and microlight facial rejuvenation, as well as nutritional and lifestyle counseling to serve your health care needs.

Mission Statement

When I established Acu-Care Health Centers in 1989, I did so with a firm conviction in the power of Oriental medical therapies and their ability to help heal the body, mind and spirit. It is my desire to share with as many people as possible these healing benefits and to provide such services in a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. I care very deeply about those who have entrusted me with their needs and seek to do my best in helping them achieve their goals for increased health and vitality.

Whatever the needs or goals may be, I am available to assist in meeting them. Over the years, I have felt honored to have had the opportunity to work with so many fine people and look forward to sharing with others the healing benefits of Oriental Medicine.
